About Javier Bailey Sr.
Our Mission
Javier Bailey Sr, a graduate of University of Memphis and University of Tennessee, has dedicated a lifetime to public service, including the development of the Office of Shelby County Assessor of Property. He currently serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for the current Assessor of Property. He was selected twice (2019 and 2022) by Assessors across the State of Tennessee as "Deputy Assessor of The Year". He is an ordained Elder in the Church of God in Christ, licensed Principal Real Estate Broker, Real Estate Developer, former trial lawyer, and certificated aviation pilot. He has served as consultant and advisor on real estate and property tax issues to corporations and individuals across the nation. He is married with four children and five grandchildren.
